Necklace and earrings

Here's what I made on Tuesday evening when I went out unwillingly into that cold night. It was worth it though: I learned how to make a spaced necklace and two types of earrings. I also bought a necklace board, a set of tools, some 'tigertail' (the fine flexible wire used here) and crimps.

I had planned to work with wooden or ceramic beads, but this time we had no choice; we had to select from set packs of glass beads. But now I have the knowledge and the tools, I can do what I like from now on.

Emerald glass necklace and earrings. Such a rich colour; I chose it because a friend has earrings in this glowing emerald and they look stunning. The necklace differed from the other two I made in that the beads are spaced out. I also added a chain to enable me to wear it different lengths. The earrings were so easy to make, threaded onto a sort of long thin nail which I then trimmed and bent to attached to the hook, I'm going to take some of my other necklaces in to find matching beads so I can make earrings for them.

Earrings in a different style. I picked the beads in the successful hope of matching the green and blue necklace I made in Taupo.
